Overview
BatchRenamer is a file renaming tool that runs entirely on your device. We do not
collect any personal information, and we never send your file data to any server.
Data we do not collect
- We do not read your Photos library, your contacts, or your location
- We never upload the folder you choose, or the contents of the files inside it, to any server
- We do not gather usage statistics, and we include no analytics SDK and no advertising
- No third-party tracking is embedded in the app
- Identifiers: not collected. Purchase history: not collected — Apple
processes the payment, and the app only reads the minimum entitlement details StoreKit provides to
check your unlock status
- Diagnostics: we run no analytics of our own. If you choose to share iPhone
analytics or App Store diagnostic information with developers in iOS Settings, Apple's own system
mechanism may deliver crash and performance data to us. That is controlled entirely by Apple and by
your own choice — the app cannot enable it, and we never use it for marketing
Local storage
Only the following data is stored, and only on your device:
- Renaming rules (UserDefaults): the templates, prefix, starting sequence number,
extension policy and other settings you configure. Deleting the app clears them.
- Cross-session counters (UserDefaults): the values of the persistent
{counter:KEY} counters, created only when you actually use that feature.
- Unlock status and free-use counter (UserDefaults): whether the one-time purchase
has been completed and the number of free renames left, so the app can check offline whether it is
already unlocked. The purchase entitlement is verified by StoreKit; the app never persists purchase
receipts or credentials.
All of the above is kept in local storage on this device. We do not sync any of it to iCloud or to
any other service.
Necessary system access
- Files app folder access: the folder you explicitly select through the system
file picker. The app can only read and write inside folders you have authorized, and cannot reach
anywhere else.
- App Store in-app purchase: the one-time purchase runs through Apple's official
StoreKit 2 and the App Store. Apple collects transaction information at the
moment of purchase
(that falls under Apple's privacy policy, see
apple.com/legal/privacy).
BatchRenamer itself never touches your payment card details.
Third-party services
None. BatchRenamer has no backend server, no login system, and no third-party SDKs.
Children's privacy
BatchRenamer is not designed for children under 13, collects no age-identifying data, and complies
with COPPA and GDPR-K.
Data security
- The app makes no network requests, and your files never leave your device
- A rename can be undone with one tap (valid within the current session only)
Policy changes
If we ever introduce a networked feature (for example, cross-device sync), we will announce it on this
page 30 days in advance and update the “App Privacy” label in App Store Connect.
